Denver has many delights….
Denver can be very pleasant in January. The Denver Art Museum and Museum of Nature and Science often have popular exhibitions still running after the holiday season, the Denver Botanic Gardens feature their annual Orchid Showcase, restaurants are less crowded and parking much more convenient.
Drake is old enough to really participate

The basin is at over 5,000 ft elevation, the nearby peaks rise over 7,000 ft.

Hiking Oak Creek Canyon. The volcanic rock has been scoured and smoothed over centuries by the water.
