Kopje Creek Cabin: Spring in the High Country

Wild flowers: Dozens of small early spring wild flowers have appeared at our 8,500 ft elevation cabin. Pasqueflowers, buttercups, forget-me-nots, bistorts, daisy fleabanes, phlox, barrel cactus and many others, despite the fact that we still have snow drifts in the creek bottom over 10 ft deep!

Birds: Common Mergansers and Mallard ducks, Canadian Geese, Steller’s Jays, Mountain Blue Birds, ….and hummingbirds have arrived in force!

Game Camera: Winter visitors captured in the game camera include a few moose, coyotes and a couple obcats on the prowl.

A beautiful coyote, a young bull moose and a rare bobcat pic!   Lovely early spring days at our Colorado mountain cabin!
