Autumn Fly Fishing in the Colorado High Country 🐟

Elk bugling, fish calling (subtle, you have to listen closely) changing aspens from green, gold, orange and red. What could be more enchanting?

After a lovely drive up the Poudre Canyon, camping at Long Draw Resevoir. Breakfasting on eggs, bacon and toast, Canada Jays steal our food if we are not vigilant!

Long Draw Reservoir. We catch 15 fish – Sal catches a 14″ Cutthroat Trout which we keep for dinner. Her first experience fly fishing.

Camping “off-the-grid” on the Laramie River. Sal’s Trout, a weenie roast and s’mores for dinner. The elk bugle all night.

Fall colors along the Laramie River.  A Sand Creek sunset.

Colorado- so lovely in the autumn!
